The short version
RecapHours is a calculator that runs entirely in your browser. Your hours never leave your device — we can't see them, and we don't want to.
Your hours data
When you use the "save on this device" feature, your entered hours are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device only. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Clearing the calculator, using your browser's clear-site-data function, or uninstalling your browser removes them. Anyone with access to your device and browser could view them, so treat shared devices accordingly.
Information we collect
Server logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data needed to serve the site securely — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Email: if you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply.
Advertising
We may display advertising served by third parties such as Google AdSense to keep the site free. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests and prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policies; manage personalization at Google Ads Settings or opt out of some third-party cookies via aboutads.info.
Cookies
The site itself does not set cookies (local storage for your saved hours is not a cookie and is never transmitted). Third-party advertising partners may set cookies as described above once ads are enabled.
Not a compliance system
RecapHours is a planning tool. It is not an ELD, does not create records of duty status, and nothing entered here constitutes an official log.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
